CHANGE WAR!

The power in CHANGE! A little change will make a difference. So collect all your loose change whether it is coins or dollars whatever you have and bring it in. Each class will have a jar and will collect change throughout the month of OCTOBER!

The CHANGE WAR will run from October 2nd - 30th.

Later this month we will celebrate "Mission Sunday" and what better way to prepare than to start with a service project. We can always turn to scripture for the answers. Take a look in Matthew 25:31-46 and see how this relates to our mission.

Starting October 2nd we will have each grade collect change for "Be Concerned"

Since 1968 when it began as the Christmas Store, Be Concerned has helped low-income families celebrate Christmas and maintain economic stability throughout the year. Until 1988, Be Concerned was an all-volunteer organization. Even today, volunteers provide most of the day-to-day service. As a result, Be Concerned operates on one third the budget it would need with a fully paid staff.

Be Concerned's programs are supplemental and ongoing in nature so customers can minimize the need for emergency assistance.

Be Concerned's Mission:

  • Be Concerned is deeply committed to honoring the dignity and humanity of all persons.
  • Its purpose is to assist low-income people of Northern Kentucky in obtaining basic necessities for life.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

Be Concerned will receive all money collected to assist with their needs of helping low-income families in our area.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

Serving the people of GOD and to celebrate our success the class that collects the most money will have doughnuts.

About Catechetical Sunday

The ministry of the Word is a fundamental element of evangelization through all its stages, because it involves the proclamation of Jesus Christ, the eternal Word of God.

“The word of God nourishes both evangelizers and those who are being evangelized so that each one may continue to grow in his or her Christian life” (National Directory for Catechesis [NDC] [Washington, DC: United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2005], no. 17).

"Do This in Memory of Me"
−2011 Theme

Theme

This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on September 18, 2011, and will focus on the theme “Do This in Memory of Me.” Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.
