Grade 2 Blest Are We Faith & Word Edition Parish helps students learn, love and live their faith. Engaging Special Features help build Catholic identity. Student Books include five units, each with four chapters.
Chapters are structured around the four pillars of the Catechism: Catholic faith,
worship, life, and prayer. Each begins with a Take-Home page to involve parents
in helping their children prepare for the chapter. Lessons follow a three-step
learning process inviting the children to Share, to Hear and Believe, and to
Respond. Each chapter includes Scripture and church teaching including
statements of faith and Faith Words. Children respond through written work,
activities and prayer. Chapters conclude with review exercises. Faith in Action
pages highlight parish ministries and vocations. A write-in glossary and a
mini-catechism are included at the back of each book.

Dear Parents,
First Reconciliation is Thursday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m. in church. Please arrive with your child by 6:50, as the service will begin promptly at 7:00. There are no assigned seats. This is a simple service, and there will be programs to follow. The children are to wear Sunday clothes.
Following
a prayer service, the students will be directed row by row to receive
the sacrament with Fr. Reinersman or Fr. Wamala. We ask you to maintain a
respectful silence during this time. Please walk with your child to the
priest. Introduce your child, and then step back to allow privacy.
After your child is finished, walk with your child back to your seat, so
that his/her penance can be said.
After
your child has made First Reconciliation you have the option of
receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation yourselves. Visiting priests
will be available for you. Once all the children have gone to
Confession, Fr. Wamala and Fr. Reinersman will remain until all who wish
to go to Confession have done so.
The
priests will be happy to guide you, but the usual form is to mention
how long it has been since your last confession, confess your sins, pray
an Act of Contrition (you will have already done this with your child),
accept a penance and the priest will pray the Prayer of Absolution.
When
all in your family who wish to go to Confession have done so, you are
free to leave quietly. Please leave by the main door. You may pick up
your child’s First Reconciliation certificate from the table in the main
vestibule.
Thank
you for your support. We strive to provide a prayerful atmosphere and a
positive experience for our children as they receive the Sacrament of
Reconciliation for the first time.
